You’re likely to spot her wearing the Courage bag. “I love it because it fits all of the workout gear that I need. I’m also a backpack girl and I don’t go anywhere without one.”
We spoke with Yari to learn how she balances her career and lifestyle without compromising her passion.
What got you started living a healthy/fitness lifestyle?
I played basketball when I was younger and enjoyed how I was constantly moving and building strength. Being in sports at a young aged allow me to understand why it’s important to create movement and push yourself in what I do on a daily basis. Plus I want to live a long and healthy life so my goals push me to continue a healthy life for myself and my future.
What are some of your current fashion obsessions?
Denim, pastels, metallic, platforms, etc.
A backpack is my favorite accessory. I haven’t used a purse for a few years and as a graphic designer and creator, I always have my laptop with me so I need a bag with support and style.
How do you set your goals?
My goals are constantly changing as I evolve as a person so I try to write them down. Each time I have a new goal I like to see it and be able to go back to it whenever I want to remind myself of that goal.
How do you balance everyday life and your passion?
Balancing life and passion is very difficult sometimes. In life, we have all these responsibilities that we have to tend to and passion can be hard to fit in. In order to create a world for my life and passion I have to compromise, but not let go of the things I love the most.
What is your biggest challenge, and what do you do to manage this challenge?
Creating more time for myself and the things I enjoy doing is probably one of the hardest challenges. As I get older time seems to keep slipping away. At the moment, I really need to schedule my days out and that is the best way I can manage it.
Do you have a saying or motto that you live your life by?
We are what we think, so make sure those thoughts matter.
Coffee or Tea? Iced or hot?
Hot matcha latte any day.
Where do you draw your inspiration/motivation from?
My inspiration comes from just looking at people, places or things. I’m a visual person so sometimes ideas just come to me as I’m in the process of creating.
Where is your favorite place to travel?
Right now my favorite place to travel is Mexico because each part is different. Mexico City has the vibrancy and culture and the coast has the R&R.
What was your first job?
My first job was at Abercrombie Kids.
What is your favorite food to indulge in?
I love breakfast foods, especially the sweet stuff.
Any Netflix series obsessions?
Do you prefer cardio or weight training?
Treadmill or hike?
